Hippi Süleyman’ın hikâyesini ise kadim dostu Namık Çolpan’dan öğrenmeye çalıştık. Namık Bey, Sultanahmet Meydanı’na bakan en ünlü mekânlardan birinin işletmecisi. Mekân, 1957’de Lale Restaurant adıyla kuruluyor.

In its heyday, the Pudding Shop was an obligatory stop on the “hippie trail,” a starting point for restless vagabonds from the West on their way through the exotic East.
Clinton da geldi Batı’dan gelen hippiler burada buluşur ve Doğu’ya yapacakları yolculuğu planlarlarmış. O dönem burada asılı bir pano sayesinde birbirleriyle haberleşen hippiler, üzerinde İstanbul-Hindistan yazan otobüsün kalkmasını beklerlermiş. Pudding Shop şimdi de Adem ve Faruk Çolpan kuzenler tarafından işletiliyor.
